6th grade Homework for Wednesday February 6th, 2013

Good afternoon!
I hope you all had a great day today at school.

Today we started working with a new topic. We are introducing algebra to our lives.

Remember today's vocabulary word were:

  • Variable: is a symbol that represents one of more numbers.
  • Algebraic expression: is a mathematical phrase with at least one variable.

Homework:
1. A numerical expression is a mathematical phrase that uses numbers. What is the difference between an algebraic expression and a numerical expression?

Tell which operation you would use for each word phrase.
2. Six goals fewer than g goals
3. P people increased by two.

I hope you all have a great afternoon!

Bonus: For writing the algebraic expression for exercises 2 and 3 I will give you 1/2 point for each ;)
